A short but busy week in p2/3!

Hello,

We may only have had a 3 day week but lots of exciting things have happened! Read on to find out more about our favourite things this week.

Today we had a visit from Mr Troup and the garden centre van to let us choose plants for our class to look after. We are going to plant them in their pots outside next week.

We also had fun using chalk pastels during our art lesson to create a sea and sunset background. Next week we will create our own sea creature sketches to add on to our beautiful collages.

However, the best thing about this week was definitely getting our eels delivered. They are now settling in well in their home tank for the next 3 and a half weeks.

Here are some interesting facts about our eels:

Lilly – Eels can live up until they are 85 (in captivity)

Amelie – Eels can only live out of water for 2 days but they need slime on them because if they did not have slime they would not be able to breathe. They breathe through their skin!

Katie – Eels like to hide in different places and if an eel if in a hiding spot the other eels usually follow.

Aaron – The eels are born in the Sargasso Sea which is just above Florida and either travel to America or to Scotland.

Jessica – eels love to play hide and seek and when they are playing hide and seek the other eels can smell them and know where to go.

Erika – It takes 2 years for the eels to get from Sargasso Sea to Scotland!

Callan – An eel can grow up to 1 metre long!

Alaina – Eels are endangered.
