Primary 3 love shapes

Primary 3 have been learning about shapes. We were naming 2D and 3D shapes and we made a cuboid using a net. We learned that a cuboid has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 corners. A cube has the same number of faces, edges and corners as the cuboid.

We learned about other 3D shapes too.
A cone has 2 faces, 1 edge and 1 corner.
A sphere has 1 face, no edges and no corners.
A cylinder has 3 faces, 2 edges and no corners.
A square based pyramid has 5 faces, 8 edges and 5 corners.
A triangular prism has 5 faces, 9 edges and 6 corners.

We had fun learning about shapes-Melanie Grace
It was great fun finding out about all the shapes-Kyle
I liked finding out about edges and corners-Robyn
It was marvelous learning about things we didn’t used to know-Coral

  1. You are already able to give many facts about shapes, well done. I can see that you are challenging your learning by using lots of different shapes.
