We have been very busy in maths, we have been learning all about fractions. We were learning all about a half, we got to make different pizza toppings for each half of our pizza, used the white board to play games, and worked with a partner to collect the most half pictures.

We have been doing so well we are now moving on to learning about a quarter!

Erin “We have heard some rattling in my pen, and we are keeping a look out for her.”

Primary 2 will keep you updated and don’t worry we have created wanted posters and we will catch her and keep everyone safe!.

Our trip to the shop

Last Monday Primary 2 went a walk around our local area to see if we could spot any shops.

Timoti “We saw my dads restaurant, Capa Landa.

Ayva “we went to the Co op and we went inside. We saw the shop manager who takes care of the shop. She spoke about fair trade.

Erin “we saw the butchers. We even saw a customer going in to buy something.”

Benjamin ” I saw my mum in the co op she was buying something!”.

Jaymi “We saw lots of different foods like, meat, fish and sweets”.

Giing to the shops made us think of lots of questions we wanted to find out, how they get all the food there. This is something we are going to investigate further.

Our special visitor

Lewis “We had a special visitor, Mrs McLaren, she came to tell us about the 1960s and what it was like”. 🙂

Elli “Mrs McLaren told us about a tradition where the bride and groom would throw money and kids would get to keep it 😊”

Annmarie “it was very interesting”.

Ayva “Mrs McLaren told us about houses, they had a whistle kettle 😀”.

It was lovely having her in our class, we gave Mrs McLaren a sticker for her great work.
