We have been reading The Enormous Turnip. Next week we are going to be making and tasting turnip. Turnip is a vegetable. We are excited to try it.

This week we have been busy measuring the length of different things in our classroom and outside. We have used cubes, our hands and our feet.

Apple Day
A cracking week in P1/2!
We were all working hard on Monday and then a man came into our classroom with 10 live eggs. We have loved watching them and we have taken excellent care of them all week. On Wednesday 6 eggs hatched. When we came to school on Thursday 3 more had hatched overnight. At 11.30am on Thursday we watched the last egg hatch in front of us. Next week we will have the chance to hold the chicks.
On Tuesday we went on our class trip to Summerlea. We went on a tram and looked at different houses from the 40’s, 60’s and 80’s. Some of us were very brave and went down the mine. We enjoyed our lunch in the park. We had a great time! Miss Wallace was delighted with our behaviour.
We have had great fun out in the sunshine. What a cracking week we have had!
Our new topic
We are learning about back in time. This afternoon we looked at different objects, photographs and pictures in groups. Then we had to sort them into old and new. It was fun!
Our Assembly
We are all excited for our Assembly tomorrow. We have all been practising hard at home and in school. We will see you all tomorrow.
