Able Pupils

Able Pupils‘ is a term used in schools to describe children who have the potential to develop significantly beyond what is expected for their age, having abilities in one or more academic subjects or across the curriculum.

How can I help?

  • Join classes or clubs relevant to your child’s talent.
  • Encourage reading.
  • Foster their general knowledge.
  • Encourage your child to discuss their views and opinions.
  • Encourage social situations with peers.

Cumbernauld Academy is a memeber of the Scottish Network for Able Pupils (SNAP) and as a school we will be working to ensure we offer appropriate challenges for more able pupils within an inclusive framework.
