Additional Alternative Arrangements (AAA)

There are a number of pupils who qualify for AAA. To establish whether or not a students qualifies for AAA, evidence is gathered from departments, transition information from primary school is also considered, and pupils who have identified conditions, such as dyslexia, will automatically recieve support, should they desire it.

The type of arrangements on offer are as follows:

  • Reader
  • Reader/Scribe
  • Reader/Scribe/Extra Time/Prompt
  • Transcription (without correction)
  • Transcription (with correction)
  • Seperate room
  • Use of a dicataphone
  • Digital papers
  • EAL pupils – Use of a Bi-lingual dictionary and extra time
  • Quiet room (for anxious pupils)

Wordprocessing

Any student (with entitlement) who wishes to write their papers using wordprocessing, needs to be able to manage the average typing speed of forty words per minute.

Preparation for this should begin as soon as possible, preferably at least two years before a student’s exam year, so in earnest by S2.
