Christmas Doors
Every year the school hold its prestigious Christmas Door competition with departments vying to create the best door.
Congratulations to the Support for Learning base who won this year’s competition with their Santa themed door. Special mention must also go to the Art Department for their impressive Polar Express corridor.
Check out some of the entrants in our Image Gallery.
Christmas Shoe Box Appeal
A big thank you to pupils, families and staff for their contributions to the shoe box appeal. We packed 35 boxes and contributed £35 to postage. Well done all who were involved, especially Burns House, who donated the most items.
Christmas Fayre, 26 November 2016
We’re busy getting ready to welcome a very special visitor tomorrow.

Don’t forget to bring along a donation for the Food Bank and help a good cause this Christmas.
Christmas Fayre – 26 November 2016
Senior pupils in the Personal Development class are busy organising the school’s annual Christmas Fayre, which will take place on 26 November 2016 from 1pm to 3pm.
There will be a number of different stalls with something for everyone as well as a coffee shop with delicious cakes and beverages. You can also meet Santa Claus in his Frozen themed grotto. Entertainment will be provided by the excellent Calderhead High School choir, who will be singing Christmas songs.
Shoe Box Appeal
We are still looking for donations for the shoe box appeal and the deadline has been extended to 18th November 2016.
We are looking for toiletries, toys, gloves, hats, scarves and any other suitable items that would be a welcome gift for children and adults. Sweets are also welcome but the expiry dates must be seen and must not expire before 2018. No chocolate, biscuits or cakes please. If you prefer to donate money instead that would also be welcome , as postage for the boxes needs to be paid.
You are also welcome to pack your own shoe box.
All donations are gratefully received.

Christmas Jumper Day
Calderhead High School S5 pupils organised a Christmas jumper day for Friday 18th December to raise money for the charity “Text Santa”. They encouraged staff and pupils from the school to wear a Christmas jumper on the condition that they texted a donation to Santa.
Declan, Dylan, Cameron and Connor were encouraged by Mrs Crawford to promote the event and commented “It’s igniting the Christmas spirit around the school and raises money for charity.”
The money raised will be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support, Make a Wish and Save the Children.
Christmas Fayre
Calderhead High School S5 and S6 pupils organised a Christmas Fayre, which took place in the school on Saturday, 21st November 2015. The event was a great success – there was a café and stalls including Santa’s grotto, tombola, home baking, candles, soaps and many more.
This was done as part of their Personal Development classes and the Fayre raised a fantastic £1,171! Well done to all the pupils and staff who made it such a success. Thank you also to everyone who came along to the Fayre and supported the event.
