School Captains and Vice Captains

Congratulations to our  School Captains for this year, Emma Gifillan and Matthew Muir, and to our Vice Captains, Neve Black, Lewis Campbell and Amy Wilson.

Every pupil at Calderhead High School is allocated to a House, which they will remain attached to throughout their time at Calderhead. It is expected that every pupil will take pride in their House and strive to make it the best it can be.

There are four Houses in the House System: Burns, Fleming, Lochhead and Wallace. Each House has a Principal Teacher of Pupil Support as its House Leader, and two S6 House Captains and S5 House Prefects. They will also have their own colour/tartan:

Burns

House Leader: Mrs Buchanan

House Captain: Evie Moore

Vice Captain: Ebony McLean

Prefects: Kiera Allan and Kenzie Steele

Fleming

House Leader: Mrs Horn

House Captain: Aiden Reid

Vice Captain: Emma Brockett

Prefects: Bekki Ballantyne and Erin Morrison

Lochhead

House Leader: Mrs Phee

House Captain: Mackenzie Forrest

Vice Captain: Ross Baillie

Prefects: Mhari Donnachie and Taylor McLellan

Wallace

House Leaders: Mrs Ward and Mr Leitch

House Captain: Joan Gage

Vice Captain: Jack Stewart

Prefect: Demi McMullen and Chloe McSeveney

Each House has its own allocated notice board in the social area, which is kept up to date with relevant House information by House Leaders, Captains and Prefects.

A House Cup will be competed for annually, and will be won by the House that has accumulated the most House points throughout the session. House points can be won in a variety of ways: merits, uniform, wider achievement, subject performance, staff recommendation and so on.

An individual pupil House Shield will be competed for termly. Each House has its own House Shield; this will be won by the pupil who gains the most House points for their House by the end of each term.

At PE each pupil will wear a t-shirt matching their House colour. T-shirts can be purchased from Academy Uniforms via the school or from a retailer of choice.

Every pupil will be given a House pin badge to wear on the lapel of their blazer.

All staff will be attached to a House and will participate in House events throughout each session, including a variety of Inter-House events.
