Beat the Teacher Race

The second Calderhead ‘Beat the Teacher’ race took place at lunchtime on 10th March 2017.

Despite predictions that Mr Higgins was a strong contender for first place, congratulations to Connor in S2 who finished first (just ahead of the  Mr Higgins).

Well done to all the staff and pupils who participated.

Law and District Amateur Athletic Club

There is a proposal to set up a section of Law and District AAC in Shotts, based in Calderhead High School. There will be a parents/supports meeting in Calderhead High School at 6:30pm on Wednesday 28th September. We ask that if anyone who thinks they can offer support to come along.

Also if you think your child may be interested in taking part then please come along so that we can judge the likely success of this initiative. We think that this is a great opportunity to work with a very successful and nurturing club as part of our expanding sports hub.

NLC Schools Athletics Championships

The first day of the North Lanarkshire Athletics Championships took place on Thursday 2nd June and the Calderhead High pupils  who participated all did very well and conducted themselves fantastically. They competed against pupils from every school in the authority and we are delighted to have won the following medals:

  • Gold for Reece Cordiner, S3, in the Javelin, and
  • Silver for Ewan Nelson, S2, in the Discus.

Well done to everyone who took part!
