James Erskine, the Earl of Mar and Kellie and Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords, visited Calderhead High School to speak to senior Modern Studies students on Friday, 20th November, 2015.
All National and Higher Modern Studies pupils study the role of the House of Lords as part of their Democracy in Scotland and the UK unit. This visit was organised as part of the Peers in Schools project run by the House of Lords.
Calderhead High School S5 and S6 pupils organised a Christmas Fayre, which took place in the school on Saturday, 21st November 2015. The event was a great success – there was a café and stalls including Santa’s grotto, tombola, home baking, candles, soaps and many more.
This was done as part of their Personal Development classes and the Fayre raised a fantastic £1,171! Well done to all the pupils and staff who made it such a success. Thank you also to everyone who came along to the Fayre and supported the event.
Calderhead High School pupils organised a coffee morning to raise funds for St Andrew’s Hospice on Friday, 4th December 2015 and raised a fantastic £1203.50!
