Calderhead Quiz Champions
S1, S2 and S3 pupils recently took part in the Calderhead High School Quiz. Congratulations to the S2 winning team “I told you so” and to the S3 runners up , “Gryffindor” and well done to everyone who organised and took part in the quiz.
Wishaw and Shotts Youth Forum Competition
Well done to Natalia in S3, who won the Wishaw & Shotts Youth Forum logo competition.
A youth forum is the voice of young people in the community. Wishaw & Shotts Youth Forum is for young people aged 12 – 18 years old and meets every Thursday – see their Facebook page for more information.
North Lanarkshire Schools Music Groups’ Spring Concert
Well done to all the pupils who took part in the North Lanarkshire Schools Music Groups’ Spring Concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 31st March, including six of our Calderhead pupils, five of whom are seen here heading off to the final rehearsal.
Speak Up Competition
Calderhead High School S3 pupils, Alannah, Lauren and Yasmin, will represent the school in the finals of the North Lanarkshire public speaking competition, ‘Speak Up’, tomorrow afternoon. Good luck!
Wishaw/Shotts Tennis Festival
Well done to the young leaders from Calderhead High School who helped out at the Wishaw/Shotts tennis festival at Wishaw Sports Centre.
World Book Day Quiz Champions
The whole school participated in the recent World Book Day Quiz and competition between the classes was fierce! However, 5S2 won by a narrow margin and have been appointed this year’s World Book Day Quiz Champions. Congratulations!
Table Tennis Tournament
Well done to the Calderhead S1/2 A and S3/4 table tennis teams who made it through to the table tennis finals when they played in the recent table tennis tournament at St Aidens High School. The finals will be held on the 24th June 2016.
Football Victory
Congratulations to the Calderhead High School senior boys’ football team involved in the victory against Holy Cross HS in the Lanarkshire cup. They will take part in the next round against Cardinal Newman at Sir Matt Busby Sports Centre in Bellshill on Wednesday, 2nd March.
Saltire Awards
Congratulations to our Seniors at Calderhead High who were awarded Saltire Challenge Awards for participation, including
- 19 awards for the St Andrews’ 6km ;
- 19 awards for MVP training ; and
- 12 awards for stewarding at Pipe Band Championships.
