Coronavirus Home Schooling Plan: Computing Science Students

All tasks for S5/6 pupils are now being issued via Glow and MS Teams.

Pupils have been asked to learn a new programming language: Python.

All materials are available through the Files area in the Higher Computing Science MS Team area. Our pupils are familiar with using MS Teams.

Introduction to Python

This website introduces you to PYTHON. It contains links to a set of self-marking python activities that let you track your progress and download and / or print off a PDF certificate for each python skill. Try working your way through each of the tasks.

Moving on with Python

This site is a little more difficult with more challenging programs, that should be tackled after you do the intro exercises above, but for these exercises you will have to download the Python Programming Environment (but it’s a free download).

For pupils who do not have Windows devices, they can also download Python Apps for both iOS and Android – just go to your App/Play Store and search for Python, there are several to choose from
