Course Overview

The SQA describe National 4 English as a course that enables learners to develop their literacy skills and to understand, analyse and evaluate texts in the contexts of literature, language and media. The Course also enables learners to create and produce texts, and provides opportunities to develop planning and research skills, applying language skills as appropriate.

At Braidhurst High School, you will enjoy the course through engaging with a wide variety of texts and activities designed to develop transferable skills for learning, life and work. Assessment activities include/cover: reading; writing; talking and listening skills. Having successfully completed these, you will undertake an Added Value Unit involving independent research and analysis.
