INCLUSIVE ACTIVITY CLUBS

We have been working with a number of partners to try to increase and expand the opportunities for physical activity in North Lanarkshire for young people with additional support needs.

NEW CLUB!!! ASN Table Tennis Club

The Joe Wilson Table Tennis club have an ASN table tennis session on Tuesday evenings:

Tuesdays

5-6pm

Taylor High School – Games Hall

 

Boccia Club

The boccia club will be starting back at St Maurice’s School on Thursday 1st February from 5.30pm – 6.30pm and is open to young people of all ages and all abilities. Boccia is a disability sport where players throw, kick or ramp balls towards a target ball.  All equipment will be provided and the sessions are free of charge.  We are also delighted to have Peter McGuire coaching as Peter was a Paralympian who has competed successfully in boccia for a number of years.  He has won medals in European Championships, World Championships and Paralympics.  Participants will be able to meet Peter and benefit from his expert coaching during these sessions.

 

STARTING SOON – ASN Football
Bedlay Community Football Club are running an ASN football session. The details are as follows:

Transport for Thursday 18th January

Due to the continued bad weather forecast overnight there will be no school buses running tomorrow.  There may be some disruption to taxi transport, this will depend on individual providers and you should contact them directly for further information.   We expect the school to be open as usual however please keep checking the website for more details as the situation develops, below is the latest release from the council.

All council-operated buses for pupils attending Additional Support Needs (ASN) schools have been cancelled.

School Transport Wednesday 17th

There will be no school buses running tomorrow.  There may be some disruption to taxi transport.  We expect the school to be open however please keep checking the website for more details, below is the latest release from the council.

Schools update – Wednesday 17 January

We expect all schools to be open.

All Additional Support Needs (ASN) bus transport run directly by the council has been cancelled.

There may be disruption to private contractor ASN transport and other school transport. If any company is unable to provide their contracted service, head teachers will be notified as soon as possible. They will then inform parents and carers that transport to school will not be provided and that alternative arrangements should be made for their children to get home safely.
