The Blue Group have been extremely busy since starting Bothwellpark High School. We have established effective morning routines, which has helped the young people settle in and get used to the new enviroment.
Every morning after timetabling, we engage in circle time. This helps pupils build relationships and provides a very nurturing feel to the class. We look at some Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing elements. There are some other opportunities for the young people to put learning into context
Fitness is a massive priority within schools, as it is important to keep young people active and engaged. As part of circle time, we get the young people up and active to give them the opportunity to burn some energy and calories. This also meets a large number of out Health and Wellbeing outcomes. For this we use BORN TO MOVE, a programme created by international fitness company LesMills.
We, in the Blue Group, are very active!
On Wednesday the 19th of September, it was ‘International Talk like a Pirate Day’. This is a major festival within the Pastafarian Religious of the ‘Flying Spaghetti monster’.
The pupils took part in a treasure hunt, took part in some pirate dances and songs. Every pupil successfully found a pirate treasure chest.
The next BIG festival that we will be celebrating is Diwali on Wednesday the 7th of November.
Very good photos of the kids. Looks like they had fun on pirate day😊 Mari Joseluis’mum
I’m glad you liked them – they all had lots of fun. Diwali is the next big festival on November the 7th. There will be lots of colour and cultural exploration. 🙂
