The Zoo Lab visited us for Robert Burns Day we read over some of Rabbie’s poetry and even got to touch the animals all of us really enjoyed this!

Barons Haugh – Outdoor Learning
The Blue group had a fantastic time constructing our rope ladder. We now have more height to build a more functional canopy shelter.

We have been working with a number of partners to try to increase and expand the opportunities for physical activity in North Lanarkshire for young people with additional support needs.

The Joe Wilson Table Tennis club have an ASN table tennis session on Tuesday evenings:

Boccia Club
The boccia club will be starting back at St Maurice’s School on Thursday 1st February from 5.30pm – 6.30pm and is open to young people of all ages and all abilities. Boccia is a disability sport where players throw, kick or ramp balls towards a target ball. All equipment will be provided and the sessions are free of charge. We are also delighted to have Peter McGuire coaching as Peter was a Paralympian who has competed successfully in boccia for a number of years. He has won medals in European Championships, World Championships and Paralympics. Participants will be able to meet Peter and benefit from his expert coaching during these sessions.

Bedlay Community Football Club are running an ASN football session. The details are as follows:

Zoo Education -Rabbie’s Pet Poetry
Rabbie’s Pet Poetry by Zoo Lab was amazing. The pupils where able to visually see and physically touch all the Wee, sleekit, cow’rin, tim’rous beasties…..fantastic experience.
Business as usual!
It is great to have everyone back today now that the transport is back to normal. It was a great day to come back too as the majority of the pupils are out at a Celtic Connections Concert in Glasgow.

School buses are not running on Friday however school is open as usual.

SCHOOL OPEN THURSDAY 18th JANUARY
School buses are not running today however school is open as usual. We are off on a trip to Celtic Connections at The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow with all the pupils who make it in.
Transport for Thursday 18th January
Due to the continued bad weather forecast overnight there will be no school buses running tomorrow. There may be some disruption to taxi transport, this will depend on individual providers and you should contact them directly for further information. We expect the school to be open as usual however please keep checking the website for more details as the situation develops, below is the latest release from the council.
