Homework Tasks

S4 Practical Woodworking pupils also have homework tasks that should be handed every 2nd Friday. The next deadline dates are 15/1 for tasks 11&12 and then 29/1 for 13&14. These tasks can be found in their course notes booklets. Pupils have both, the Information and Question booklets at home, but can also access them through MSTeams if they cannot locate their originals. This Homework Schedule was in place pre lockdown and continues through lockdown.

Revision Task 1: Deadline is Tuesday 19th January!

I want you to attempt the Past Paper questions listed below. Attempt them first without looking at the expected responses, to let yourself see how ready you are for such Prelim questions. But when you submit them, I expect them to be complete & with correct answers (your own words as far as possible) using the expected responses. This will help you to be better prepared for the Prelim.

Hi all, here we have task 1 for the pupils S4, 5 & 6 Studying N4 or N5 Graphic Communication.

It is a revision task.

 

You already have a very wide selection of past papers with expected responses in the files tab above and you should continue to work through these as we were doing in class pre lockdown.

 

The task file for lockdown is called “N5 Graphics Revision Unit” and can be found in the revision folder in the files tab, class materials, S4 etc above. You are being asked to complete questions 1 to 20. You should use all notes and books that you have been issued with, as well as the resources on here to help you with these tasks.

 

All questions must be answered!

You may choose to:

  1. a) Print out the questions,
  2. b) Answer them in your Jotter or a sheet of paper, you will have to sketch some of the questions before you can answer them, e.g. Question 4.
  3. c) Use Microsoft Word or any other suitable application to type up your answers.

 

Make sure you read the questions carefully, BEFORE you attempt the question.

 

Your response to the questions should be uploaded to YOUR OWN CLASS CHANNEL using the reply & attach options.

You can find your own class on the left of the GENERAL channel page.

 

S5 & S6 pupils should upload their work to Higher Graphic Communication and in Class C.

S3 Graphic Communication Pupils – MSTeams Task

DeskTop Publishing (DTP) Task: Deadline is Tuesday 19th January!

 

Hi all, here we have task 1 for the S3 Graphic Communication class. It involves DeskTop Publishing (DTP) and it is important that you do not treat this task as an exercise in only answering the questions I have set. You are to read, learn and understand all the information in the handout before attempting the task set.

The Handout on DTP & the task itself can be found on MSTeams in the GENERAL CHANNEL, FILES, CLASS MATERIALS then in the S3 folder. Take your time and read the file called DTP Notes before answering the questions in the file DTP Notes Task.

 

You may choose to:

You will read through the Databases theory notes and answer the questions from the homework booklet stated in the weekly task post. The theory notes and homework booklet are available in the FILES section in MSTeams in the CLASS MATERIALS folder and then in the DATABASES D&D folder.

A weekly tutorial session will be available every Friday from 10 o’clock to 11 o’clock. Mr Lewis will be online via a teams live meeting. I’ll be going over the content of the weekly task and you’ll be able to ask me questions.

S4 National 5 Pupils – Week 1 Work

You will read through the Software D&D theory notes and/or view the recorded lesson then answer the questions from the homework booklet stated in the weekly task post. The theory notes, video lesson and homework booklet are available in the FILES section in MSTeams in the CLASS MATERIALS folder and then in the Sofware D&D folder. This will be revision of the topic taught in August – October. This is the single biggest topic in N5 Computing Science and therefore it is essential that you are confident in this topic.

A weekly tutorial session will be available every Thursday from 11 o’clock to 12 o’clock. Mr Lewis will be online via a teams live meeting. I’ll be going over the content of the weekly task and you’ll be able to ask me questions. Everyone from the year group is more than welcome, even if you’re not in Mr Lewis’ class.

Over the next few weeks your will work through an online resource called “SCRATCH – Imagine, Program, Share”. This will enhance your programming skills using the scratch environment.

Then you will work through the two areas of Scratch:-

1) Learn how to make a project in Scratch

2) Try out starter projects

S1 Week 1 Task

Over the next few weeks you will work through an online resource called “Welcome to the Web”. This will teach you about the world wide web.
