Child Protection

Child Protection

Your child’s safety is crucially important to us.  We are very aware of the need to identify and protect children who are at risk. In recognition of this, North Lanarkshire Council has a clear policy and procedure, to ensure all children are protected from harm.  If a member of staff has reasonable cause to believe that a child might have been subjected to harm, this will immediately be referred to the Head Teacher. The Head Teacher will, in turn, follow council procedures, and notify Social Services, who will make a decision whether or not to pursue the referral. Every adult in Scotland has a role in ensuring all our children and young people are safe and protected from harm, at all times, and in all situations.

The Head Teacher is responsible for the school’s actions in response to Child Protection concerns.

If there are any Child Protection concerns the Head Teacher or the Child Protection Co-ordinator will follow North Lanarkshire Child Protection Procedures and Guidelines.
