The youngest class in Banton Primary!
Hello!
Today we received some homework, which we were all strangely excited about! You can find out all about it on our homework page.
As a reward for working so hard in class, we visited Banton Park!
Mr McNab had never been before so we had to show him the thirty second walk to get there.
It was worth the long journey though; We had lots of fun on the swings, the roundabout and even the zipline!
We had a spookily fun day celebrating Halloween in school!
Mr Johnstone and some of the Biggies invited us to toast marshmallows at the fire pit! Yummy (and hot!)
We pinned tails on a cat!
Then, after all that fun, we needed some energy. Time for Halloween snacks!
Fully recharged, we took part in the Mummy Challenge! It was fun wrapping our friends in paper!
We had a super Halloween. Only 364 days to go until the next one!
A great example of what we can achieve when we work together…
We baked bread as part of our Harvest work!
First, we mixed flour, baking powder, salt, oil and water together in a bowl, and mixed it all together!
Then, we rolled out the dough and made different shapes!
Finally, we put our dough into the grill to bake it!
After an agonising 10 minute wait, our bread was cooked and ready to take home to be covered in nutella, jam or anything else our hearts desired!
We braved typical Scottish weather and headed back outside again, this time to collect some twigs for our Harvest work.
What are we collecting twigs for? You will have to wait to find out!
This week we went on an adventure to find some Autumn leaves. We looked for (and found) leaves that were brown, golden, yellow and red. We even found some that were a mixture of different colours!
After giving the leaves a nice bath, we used them to create hedgehogs!
We learned interesting facts about hedgehogs. Did you know that if you see one during the day, it could be in trouble. Also, please ask us what a baby hedgehog is called!
This week we are learning about the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We talked about the different things we can see in each season, and found out which season we were born in.
We also made seasons wheels to help us remember which season it is. Right now our wheels are set to Autumn, but soon they will be changing. Brrrrrr!
Sometimes in class we do some exercises and yoga to keep active. Usually we watch an instructor on a video or Mr McNab (tries to) show us different moves we can do.
This time, it was OUR turn to become the teachers!
We worked in groups to create workout routines, and then showed the rest of the class how to do different exercises.
Watch our video and feel free to join in!
