Soil Workshop for P1-4
Today we had a fantastic afternoon with Mr and Mrs Carter who came in to work with us.
We were looking at different types of soil, what soil is made up of and the different ph of soils.
Some soils were good to build with, like the clay and sand. Others had lots of roots and stones in them.
You can see from the pictures how much fun we had.
Everyone looked like they really enjoyed this workshop led by Mr and Mrs Carter. Did the magnifying glasses help you see what was in the soil? How many worms did you find?
I was amazed at the amount of vocabulary Primaries 1-4 could remember from this workshop. Hannah and Aaron were recording everyone’s responses on the board in the classroom. They could name the tools they used and the special paper to measure how acidic the soil was. Great learning boys and girls. I hope you will use the skills you learned today to investigate the soil in your garden at home.
