We will now be presenting certificates at our weekly assemblies for children who have shown that they are working hard to be the type of person our values promote. Hello I am Miss Alison Sommerville, the new Head Teacher of Aitkenhead Primary. I am excited to take on this new role and continue to drive the school forward! Previously I have worked in both North and South Lanarkshire and have had the role of Acting Head Teacher in two North Lanarkshire schools before being appointed as Head Teacher of Aitkenhead Primary. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first two weeks

On behalf of everyone at Aitkenhead Primary School, we would like to wish Mrs Coyle a long and happy retirement. Mrs Coyle has been Head Teacher at Aitkenhead Primary School since January 2001 and we are all going to miss her. We celebrated her retirement by having an assembly and a fun afternoon on Friday. Mrs Coyle was delighted when she entered our assembly hall to see her family, colleagues
Our Potted Sports took place on Tuesday afternoon. The sun was shining and the boys and girls took part enthusiastically in all of the activities on offer. Here are just a selection of the photographs taken on the day. After the points were counted and checked, the winning house was Bute! They were presented with the Sports shield yesterday at the Awards Assembly. Thank you to all of the parents
