This term, Motherwell Football Club are visiting P5 and P6 classes to provide a series of workshops related to our Health and Wellbeing Curriculum. Pupils will participate in some physical education coaching, team building activities and learning more about looking after our environment.
We are very lucky to have a range of exciting after school clubs running this term. On Mondays there is a football club for P5-7 pupils, running for 5 weeks. On Tuesdays the VIP Arts and Sports Academy is running dance and gymnastics for P4-7 pupils. This club was very popular last year and i’m sure the boys and girls will have great fun again this year. Preparations have begun for this year’s Christmas Show entitled ‘The Wizard of Oz’ Mrs Moran and Mrs Carroll have been hard at work holding auditions and making some very difficult decisions. Final cast announcements will be made shortly and whole school singing practices will begin next week.
This Friday we will be hosting a special assembly for Mrs McGuire who sadly had to leave us at the end of last term. Mrs McGuire served as a teacher here for 26 years including 13 years as Deputy Head Teacher. The pupils and staff are looking forward to thanking her for all her hard work over the years. We will miss her greatly and wish her well in her
Some pupils from Primary 5, 6 and 7 are looking forward to attending the Bellshill and Motherwell Football Festival at Sir Matt Busby on Friday morning. Children will be provided with a football strip on the morning of the Festival. They should bring football boots (no metal studs) and a change of clothes for returning to school. Last night the boys at girls enjoyed a fantastic Halloween disco organised by our parent council. The costumes were fabulous, from zombie brides to spongebob squarepants we had them all. Everyone had a wonderful time! Thank you to our parent council for organising such a successful night once again!
This week Primary 3 had great fun during active maths. They learned how to use a range of timers, such as a sand timer, stopwatch and countdown timer to record themselves completing active tasks. As part of our interdisciplinary topic ‘Dinosaurs,’ primary 3 enjoyed making dinosaur patterns using paint. They had to think of what colour and type of dinosaur they needed to make a repeated pattern.
