After weeks of rehearsals, this week is SHOW week! The boys and girls have worked incredibly hard to learn their lines and put on a great show. The costumes are on, the face painting has been done and cast two are ready to perform this morning. We hope you all enjoy the show. Here are some photos of cast one from earlier in the week. More photos will follow shortly.
Primary 3 have been learning about solids, liquids and gases as part of our science curriculum. Boys and girls learnt how solids, liquids and gases can change from one form to other. Our favourite was learning how chocolate changes from a solid to a liquid, even if it was a little messy. The topic finished with a practical investigation to discover what might affect how quickly ice melts. I think
Primary 1 had great fun last week when we started our new Technology topic called Party Hats. Our first task was a really big challenge. We had to make, decorate and size our own hats with no adult help. We could only have help from our friends. This was a really hard challenge but also really fun. Some people made hats that were too big and covered their eyes, some people made hats
On a very cold and frosty Friday morning, primary 3 ventured out into the playground to enjoy some outdoor learning in maths. The boys and girls had a treasure hunt to find 3 digit number cards hidden in our school garden. Can you guess which children collected the most number cards? They then completed some sequencing activities using the number cards they had collected. This week we hope to go
Primary 6 created models of famous French landmarks as part of their homework project. Everyone was impressed with the creative designs and the children have received many compliments since bringing them into school. I enjoyed listening to the children as they explained how they made their models as it showed how much time they had spent on their chosen landmark. I would also like to thank all parents/guardians for their support and encouragement at home. Well
Last Friday, it was the turn of P1, P4 and P6 to present what they have been learning in class. What a wonderful afternoon it was. A special well done must go to the boys and girls in P1 for their big loud voices during their very first newstime. Thank you to Euan in Primary 7 for taking the photos! Well done boys and girls!
Thank you to everyone that has commented on our blog. It’s a great way to keep parents and families up to date with what is happening in school. We really appreciate your support and hope you find the blog useful. A special thanks to those pupils who have also commented. Well done boys and girls. It’s lovely to read about what you have enjoyed in school. Thank you! 😀
This week we finally finished our 3D dinosaur junk models!! We enjoyed showing them off at newstime and some of us were delighted to be taking them home.
The whole school has focused on learning in maths this week. In Primary 3 our focus was problem solving and active maths. Children enjoyed working in trios to solve a puzzle and explain their solution to the class. We had an active maths activities including: Making 3 digit numbers out of play-doh. Making 3 digit numbers on place value boards. Playing number before and number after on snakes and ladders.
