In German we have learnt some Christmas words including silent night that we are going to sing at the Christmas service we all know the song well and we can’t wait to sing silent night to the whole school and parents. We all enjoyed what primary 5 did for the school last week we loved the home made cakes they made we also enjoyed guessing the teddy’s birthday we wonder who guessed it right.

We all know how much fun we had on Friday with the Christmas Jumper Day.  What a fabulous way to have fun for a good cause.

What a busy week we have had thank you for reading, by Alicia Stewart and Jack Miller.

The class in the huts!

Today we are no longer ‘The class in the High school’ as we moved into our gorgeous new room in the fabulous new huts.

Although we said a fond farewell to the room  in CHS that has given us such an amazing learning environment  since August, we know that some of the P7s  could find themselves working there again in just 8 months time.

We are all really excited about being back at ‘ home’ again and can’t quite believe that this amazing room is  actually our new classroom!!

Sportshall Athletics

We had a brilliant time at the Athletics event on Wednesday 26th November at The Tryst. All of our 24 athletes gave 110% effort and we were delighted to be placed second in our group. This means we do not automatically get into the North Lanarkshire finals but there is still a chance we could be picked to go  as the fastest runners up. The children supported each other, celebrated all the results and personal achievements and were a real credit to the school. Thanks to Mrs Young for her excellent support too.

Rugby P6/7

We have all been learning rugby.  The Primary 7s have been doing it on the pitches altogether and the Primary 6s have been doing it in the hall.  We have all really enjoyed learning rugby. Our favourite part has been tag rugby it is so fun. We all hope we can do it again! There is no tackling aloud. We all ran about tagging each other. Leah kept banging her leg! We scored around 28 points! Some other rules are that you are not allowed to throw forward. By Eve and Rachel

Numeracy in P6/7

We have all been very busy  doing addition and subtraction with decimals. Today  we were reflecting on our learning by thinking about the skills we have acquired, what we can do with these skills…now and in the future…and  what other  parts of this topic we would like to know about.

We are still working  with money, to help us get our Christmas  dance organised, and we are moving on to look at length and estimating.

We really enjoyed this session today… it’s good to see how much we  now know about  decimals.

Super Six/Seven Assembly

On Friday we had our epic class assembly. We explored the world of China and dived deep into food security.

Fee Fi Fo Fum !!! We would like to introduce you to our bun loving giant.

We had lots of fun with Daniella Ella lawson and her glam assistant

Wooooo it was also Halloween!

We closed our assembly in style with the Monster Mash.

Kilbowie Thursday – Day 4

A lovely morning here in Kilbowie.  Weather dry but a bit cloudy.  Children all setting out for their first activity of the day.  Please check both P6/7 and P7 blogs as children will probably appear on both!  Photos to follow later we hope!

Kilbowie Day 4 Last Activity Day

Yesterday we got a talk from the animal expert called Derek.  He was really good at telling us about lots of different types of animals, we got to try flapjacks.  Then we got taken out to see if we had caught any mice, then we went to the football pitch and we got to see Derek’s gulls it was amazing to see it.  By Sam

Room 18

Yesterday we had Safari with Derek. We went into his lab and we saw lots of really big goldfish. Then we went outside and he called his gulls to follow him, it was really cool. After we went to find traps to look for mice, shrews and voles but we had to look out for weasels. There were no animals in the traps so we went to the football pitch to feed the gulls. Derek threw tons of bread around and not all his gulls came..some ravens came too. When we went back to the lab, we got news that Mammoths might be coming back using Asian elephants DNA…very exciting stuff!!

Jack…..Yesterday we had Safari, it was very interesting. Derek is so funny…he showed us a video of an Innuit fishing  and some real mouse traps in the grounds of Kilbowie. There was nothing in the traps ! He showed us some animal bones and animal skins…some of them belonged to red deer. He said that by planting an acorn we could help make an oak tree.

Yesterday was amazing. I did kayaking as our morning activity we went round an island we stop to go on an island there was 4 mountains the 1st one was small the 2nd one was bigger the 3rd one got bigger the 4th one was the biggest I kept saying to myself. “if I don’t do it I will regret it” I did all of them I was so proud. –Paul
