Winter Weather
With winter here, the inevitable cold weather is on its way.
School opening during Adverse Weather
It is the aim of North Lanarkshire Council and Morningside Primary School to remain open during periods of adverse weather as long as it is safe to do so.
Keeping Informed
In the unlikely event that the school has to close, we will aim to keep you informed in the following ways:
- via our school website
- through text messaging system (this can now only be accessed from school and would only be used in the event of an early closure)
North Lanarkshire Council will also use local media, Twitter (@nlcwinter) and the North Lanarkshire website to provide information in the event of adverse weather conditions.
Please ensure that the school has your most up-to-date contact information and emergency contact details.
Continuity of Learning
The class teachers may post lessons and homework activities on the blog in the event of the school being closed for a long period.
Dressing for Winter
As the days turn colder and wetter, it is recommended that the children come to school with a suitable winter jacket, footwear, gloves, hats etc. (Please label all of these clearly).
It is also a good idea for children to carry a spare pair of socks in their bags too!
