Showcasing learning, fundraising and celebrating achievements

November 18, 2016 by Mrs White | 0 comments

What a fantastic day at Morningside Primary today!

Primary 5 performed their amazing assembly all about Brazil and wowed the staff, children and parents with their knowledge, singing and dancing.

One pupil from each class received a Confident Individual award, and we heard all about one pupil’s fantastic role as a volunteer for a local charity.

The Pupil Council ran their bake sale this afternoon and sold every last cake and biscuit, well done everyone!

We will let you all know how much we raised next week

Remember that Monday is an in-service day so children are not in school.

Our Pupil Council have been hard at work baking Pudsey Bear Biscuits for our bake sale tomorrow.

Pupils are donating £1 and dressing in yellow or spots to raise money for Children In Need.

They can also bring 20p to buy a delicious biscuit or cake to help raise more money for the charity.

Thank you to Mrs Angus and Mrs Wardrope for coming in to give us a helping hand with the baking.

People Who Help Us

imageimageimageimageimageimagePrimary 1 and 2/1 were very lucky to have a visit from our local community fire officer to find out about how to stay safe in the event of a fire.

He also helped us learn about all the ways the fire service keep us safe.

Bag Packing for Bags of Help

November 4, 2016 by Mrs White | 0 comments

This afternoon, 12 of our pupils went down to Tesco in Wishaw to drum up support for our Bags of Help campaign. They helped shoppers with their packing and told them all about why we deserved their vote.

Many of the shoppers told Mrs White how impressed they were with the pupils, and gave compliments about how smart and polite they were. Well done to all the boys and girls who helped today!

We would also like that say a big thank you to our parent helpers Mrs Williams and Mrs Duncanson who came along and were great campaigners!

Remember to keep voting until the 13th November every time you shop in the local Tesco stores.
