Great Parents’ Evening

Thank you very much to everyone who attended today’s Parents’ Evening. It was lovely to see so many people taking such an interest in their child’s learning. The questionnaires which many people completed show that most people are very happy with the service which Lawmuir is providing. I will get more detailed results to you over the next few weeks. I’d like to thank all the Teaching Staff for all their hard work, the Support Staff who volunteered to help out at the various stalls and the front desk and of course Mr Tomlinson who was, as usual, just fab!

If you weren’t able to come along today please contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative meeting.

Off to sort out my costume now, looking forward to seeing all the book characters in school tomorrow!

We consulted with pupils, parents and staff to find out how to improve our website.

Family Fun Night – A Huge Success!

Our fabulous Family Fun Night took place on Thursday 19th March. The event was a sell out and everyone who attended had a great time.

Activities included: The Generation Game, Bingo, Trivia Quiz, Shoot the Hoop, Balancing Act, Roll the Coin, Hook a Duck and even a super clown act to keep the kids entertained, Burger were on sale as well as tea, coffee and cakes. Everyone who came along thouroghly enjoyed themselves and helped raise money for Friends of Lawmuir funds.

Room 3 Visit Science Centre

On Thursday 19th March Room 3 visited the Science Centre in Glasgow. They had a fantastic time exploring all the exhibits.

Lidl Health Bus Visits Lawmuir

On Friday 13th March, pupils were lucky enough to have the Lidl Health Bus visit the school. Pupils were taught about healthy choices and even made a healthy snack.

Group 4 went climbing this afternoon. It was great fun but very very rainy.

Tonight we did the Nightline. It was an activity that used lots of teamwork. First we had to get ready for the mud! Then we got blindfolded. We had to make our way through the course following the rope in complete darkness. There were obstacles to climb over, under and through. It was a lot of fun!

Kilbowie – Wednesday 11th March

Some of us went on a adventure walk this morning! We found a hobbit house and a hobbit kitchen! We climbed a big mountain. It was so windy Miss Hosie had to climb on her hands and knees. There were lots of great views of Kilbowie, down to Oban and over to Kerrera Island. We also found a hill that we rolled down. Super fun!

Today lots of us went gorge walking in the rain. We went on a short bus drive to get there, then tried to see who could keep our feet the driest. The gorge was 4x fuller that it would be normally so we all got extremely wet. We slid down a waterfall and all got completley soaked. It was great fun!

At the skiing, we started going down the hill on one foot. One we had practiced lots we put on two skies and went higher up the hill. We started going over the hill and doing some jumps if we could. Some of us were more balanced than others.
