This blog has been created to allow you to record your book reviews. In this way you can let Miss Douglas and Miss McGough know if you’ve enjoyed a book and what it was about the book that made you respond in this way. Even if you’ve found a book dull or boring you can write a review revealing why you found it dull. By writing book reviews you will be advising your class mates of which books are fun and exciting to read, which books are a bit more tricky, or which books are extremely dull!
Book reviews are the opinion of one person and so it should be remembered that one person’s cup of tea is not necessarily another person’s cup of tea.
Miss Douglas and Miss McGough will read your book reviews and reply to them. You can even reply to each others’ reviews…so let’s get blogging!
Book- Divided City
Author- Theresa Breslin
Main Characters- Graham+Joe
Published- 2006
This book was absolutely fantastic! It actually relates to me a lot more than I would have expected! I knew I would have enjoyed it when I found out that it would have been about football, then I found out that it was about Rangers ad Celtic and i knew that I would have even more thoroughly enjoyed it! Then book as I said is about well a divided city. Glasgow has been ‘divided’ for years, divided through the choice of what team to support! There are two boys, Graham and Joe, they both support different teams, Rangers and Celtic, they both play football for the same team though and they get along fine! They are supposed to hate each other but, they don’t unlike many people they see people of the opposite team as enemies, they act like it too! Making sectarian comments and singing sectarian songs but these two boys just get on with it effortlessly, they help each other when they are in danger and stand up for the! I especially enjoyed it as I am a loyal Rangers supporter and it’s gave me a completely different view of how I should treat people who support Celtic! I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in football whether they support Celtic/Rangers or not, I would also recommend it to someone who needs to take a a look at how they treat someone who supports a different team from them!
