Each month the department, along with the rest of the school, place a specific focus on an area of Literacy which can often cause problems for many pupils. The skill is practised within the English class and is then monitored across all subjects for the rest of the month.

Some examples of skills which can be focused on are:

• Sentences
• Paragraphing
• Apostrophe
• Common Spelling Errors

Each month the focus will be different. You can remind yourself of the focus for the month by checking here or looking at the posters around the school.
