Basketball

In gym we are now doing basketball. We have been doing dribbling, passing it round our bodies and passing it under our legs. We then played a game where we had to dribble to the cone and back and the first team to finish won!

We are looking forward to learning more skills in basketball!

How the house points work

In Chryston Primary we are starting House points. Each person gets placed in a house, these houses are called, Arran, Skye, Iona and Mull. We get house points for being responsible, helpful, kind and lots of other reasons. Each house has a badge with a specific colour, the colours are red for Mull, blue for Skye, green for Arran and yellow for Iona, if you lose your badge you have to pay 40p for a new one. If your house gets the most points in a week you get an extra playtime and a cup. We are all looking forward to seeing what house wins the first week!!

Tennis

Last week in Primary 4 we learnt how to grip the tennis racket and keep the ball under control.

In maths we learnt north east west and south and Mrs McIntyre helped us with it.

During ICT we made a PowerPoint presentation about Charles Rennie Mackintosh and put pictures of him in it and we also wrote facts about him.

It’s been a great Monday and we are going to learn lots more this week!!

Ashton – I liked being able to sing and dance on the stage.

Jack – I liked when we were able to see all the other classes perform.

Niamh – I enjoyed the 1980s songs.

1980’s artwork

In Primary 4 we have been working on our 1980’s artwork to be displayed in the hall for everyone to see. We were able to use our drawing skills, painting and colouring and we even used GLITTER!!

We drew roller skates, boom boxes and pac man. These were all things popular in the 80’s. We loved looking at all the pictures online to get some good ideas for our own drawings. We managed to incorporate CD’s into our artwork which will hopefully make it stand out!
