St. Mary’s are very proud of the fact that we are a Confucius Classroom. We are very fortunate that this gives our children the opportunity to enjoy an authentic experience of Chinese Culture and to learn some Mandarin language from our colleague, Holly.

To support this endeavour, Miss Campbell and Miss Wardrop have  enjoyed the opportunity to travel to China and bring many stories, pictures and souvenirs home to share with the children and place their learning in a more relevant and real-life context.

 

The children have been involved in a performance of ‘The Dragon of the Western Sea’ Opera, working with Scottish Opera, as well as a whole-school collaborative China Topic and Showcase since our launch in May 2018.
