Welcome

Dear Parents/Carers

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you and your child to St. Mary’s Primary School.

At St. Mary’s Primary School, we ensure that every child achieves their full potential. We place learning in a real-life context to ensure they develop skills which will enable them to confidently undertake further education and participate effectively in the world of work. We take a holistic approach to every child to meet individual needs and to ensure that every child is socially and emotionally ready for the future, equipped with a positive and resilient mindset.

The staff work very hard as a team to maintain a positive, nurturing ethos, which is underpinned by our status as a Gold accredited Rights Respecting School. Every child is encouraged to be an independent, responsible and respectful member of our community.

Our community extends to our friends throughout the Largs Campus buildings as children from both primary schools play together and share the same dining facilities every day. We run a joint Outdoor Learning Club and endeavour to nurture partnerships with all establishments through clubs and robust transition processes. This community-minded spirit extends to harnessing the skills and expertise of those within our local area who are willing to donate their time and skills to enhance the provision within our school in a range of areas.

As a Catholic school, our Christian faith permeates all aspects of school life, where everyone is treated with equality, fairness, love and respect. The role and participation of parents in this journey of faith is extremely important.

Parents are warmly welcomed into the school to share their skills and expertise to enhance provision for our children. There will be opportunities to meet your child’s class teacher throughout the year and we have an open-door policy where we are keen for parents to share any worries or concerns they may have.

Please feel free to contact me if I can assist you in any way.

I look forward to working with you and your child.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Stephanie Fisher

Head Teacher
