STEM Leaders
Last session Greenwood Academy passed verification for the SCQF Level 6 Young STEM Leader Award. The award is a nationally recognised qualification that enables young people to support, engage and inspire others in STEM in the school, community or youth group.
This can be through:
- planning, creating and delivering a series of STEM activities, events or interactions;
- supporting and developing STEM knowledge and understanding with individuals or small groups;
- collaborating and sharing STEM research & outreach.
On completion of the award, the Young STEM Leaders planned, led and evaluated a series of STEM interactions to engage, inspire and impart knowledge to their peers.
In 2019-20, we had 6 pupils who passed the award and another 7 who partially completed and are awaiting logbook review.
STEM Ambassadors
There are other opportunities for Stem Ambassadors, S3 STEM pupils to be involved in competitions and the delivery of the curriculum through STEM events with BGE and cluster Primaries.
