Confucius Classrooms are hubs based in schools.  They promote the joint planning of cultural activities, sharing ideas and resources to stimulate the learning and teaching of Chinese language and culture.

Greenwood Academy is a Confucius Hub and we are partnered with Tianjin No. 2 Nankai High School.  We are proud to celebrate the culture through our curriculum.

Every S1 pupil completes Mandarin sessions and it is also offered as an S3/4 elective subject.  Many departments are involved in projects including in Music, PE and Home Economics. 

Last session we established a Chinese dance group and they performed at the Ayrshire Chinese New Year event hosted by Greenwood Academy.  S1 pupils attended and participated in workshops including Chinese knotting, Kung Fu, paper cutting and Opera.  S1 pupils also visited Edinburgh Zoo to see the Pandas.
