Double Olympic Gold medalist Heather Stanning is presenting Anna MacFadyen with the Heather Stanning Award at the annual sportMoray Awards November 2016. Anna won the Intermediate SportsWoman Award for her Cross Country and Hill Running success over the past year for success in both club and school events.
Seen in the photo on the right is Ben Cameron along with Anna and Heatgher. Ben won the Junior Sportsperson Trophy for his success in Cross Country in both club and school events.

Kathryn Barr proudly wearing her silver medal from the Worlds. Kathryn is certainly a great Ambassador for her sport and regularly gives of her time to help young athletes who come into the sport at grass root level – Primary and Secondary aged pupils. She also competes for the School and supports the younger members of the team as they represent the school.
Gillies Munro – Achieved Local Hero recognition from the RYA. Along with his team mate Daniel Harris trained for Scotland, selected for the GB Squad and competing on the GB, European and World circuit with great success. Now competing in a 49er.

Mark Mitchell – Scottish and GB 1500m and Cross Country Athlete. Winner of the OSC North East Grant Award. Mark was invited to present the Sport Awards and gave our students an insight into the training schedule, challenges he faced along with his successes. It was most inspirational especially when Mark came from Forres and had represented Forres Academy at Moray, North of Scotland and Scottish Events – 800m, 1500m and Cross Country with great success.
