P2/3 Mr Risk

First Level Home Learning Pack (002)

Good morning p2/3 and welcome ‘back’! I hope you are all doing okay.

Here are some suggestions for learning activities for this week:

Topic and Writing:

Our topic for this term if we were in school would be Lighthouses.

I have linked a powerpoint and a web page below. You could use one or both of these or, if you like a challenge, do some research of your own. Make some notes about what you find out and use them to write a short report. Can you remember what a report needs? I’ll put up some success criteria next week and you can see how well you did…

Reading and Art:

Lighthouses keep ships safe while they are at sea. Ships go out for all sort of reasons – some carry goods, some carry passengers, some catch fish. Some take scientists out to learn about the life in our oceans.

Go to the E-library and search for ‘Deep Down Weird’. Have a read – with a grown up if you like – and click the ‘activity’ and ‘find out’ buttons as you go along. When you have finished, why not draw and label your favourite creature? If you can, take a picture and post it or direct message it to the class twitter page.

Maths:

This week, I’d like you to practice telling the time using digital and analogue clocks. Think about the times of day that things would happen if you were in school this week: School starts at Nine O’clock; Break is at Twenty to Eleven; Lunch is at Half Past Twelve; Assembly is at Quarter Past One; Home Time is Three O’clock. Can you draw some clock faces and show these times on them? Can you write these times digitally, e.g. Half Past Seven would be 07:30 .

Health and Wellbeing:

Have you been using Joe Wickes’ daily P.E. lessons to help keep active?

Take care everyone, and stay safe.
