Good morning everyone and welcome to our class page. Each week that we are off school, aside from the holidays, we will post suggested ideas on here for you to do. These suggestions can be expanded or reduced to meet your circumstances in this challenging time. We have attached the ‘Second Level Home Learning Pack’. In this pack, you will find a huge wealth of resources. Many of the suggestions we share will be based on ideas from this and you can alter them as you wish.
Here are some suggested activities for the week ahead.
Maths
Continuing our learning on time it would be great if you could create your own timetable. Challenge yourself to create a ‘TV Times’ (instructions are on the worksheet). Also, try your best to read the time at different points throughout the day and ask an adult if you’re right.
Literacy
By linking with the maths activity, create your ‘Ideal School Week’ (instructions are on the worksheet). In addition, the aim is to give reasons and to justify your choices. This links to our Higher Order Reading skills. Although we will not be issuing spelling words, any misspelled words during writing activities could be focussed on using the Active Spelling Activities within the Second Level Home Learning Pack.

READING
Try and get started on a novel this week, if you haven’t done so already! After the next chapter you read try and summarise it in less than 30 words. You can write it down or say it out loud to a family member. If this is easy then try and reduce the number of words.
H & W
It is a good idea to get some exercise first thing in the morning to wake you up and get you ready for the day! This can be a walk in the fresh air or a workout in your home. Joe Wicks ‘The Body Coach’ is going live every morning at 9am on his YouTube channel. He will do a 30-minute fitness session that requires very little space or equipment, have a go! https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1
Following our circuits work in class PE you could also have a go at the activities on the circuit station display posters. There is a recording sheet if you want to chart your progress.

As a fun symmetry and art challenge, we suggest you try the Symmetry Name art activity. Symmetry names
Please be assured that there is no pressure to complete all the work. We understand that circumstances vary. Regardless of when we return to school, everyone will be prepared to continue and support everyone’s learning journeys.
Take care and stay safe!
