Spring is here in Primary One. This week we have been studying daffodils, naming the parts of the plant, planting some bulbs and drawing and painting them. We also tried some hot cross buns -yummy!
Litter Pick Wednesday Walk
We had a beautiful day for our Wednesday walk this week. We were inspired by a Sport Relief video clip about a 10 year old girl called Champa who has to pick litter on the streets of Dhaka Bangladesh in order to earn money for her family’s food. We managed to collect four bags of rubbish on our walk in Aberlour. Well done everybody and thanks for helping.
SSPCA
Carol from the SSPCA came to tell us about Hedgehogs and how we can help their numbers to grow. We must feed them dog or cat food but never milk and bread.
Creativity IDL project
We finished off our Creativity- Grand designs project by presenting our work to Nursery. We talked about how we had planned, made and reviewed our bedroom in a shoe box. Everyone was very interested to see our work.
World Book Day 2016
As part of World Book Day P1 and P2 got together to share their favourite books. We also went on a Bear Hunt and Where’s Wally came too!
Spring show crowns
P1 made crowns for the Aberlour Spring show. Here we are being kings and queens about to go home for the day.

Feelings masks
P1 have been discussing feelings and emotions. We made masks to show a feeling and had to think about the shape of the eyes and mouth as well as which colours to use.
House design and build
P1 have designed and made their own houses from junk. Designs included houses with slides, bumpy coal sheds, multi-coloured walls and flapping doors. We covered the boxes we used with paper before we painted them.

Wednesday walk with Ziggy
Today we had our Wednesday walk and Ziggy came along too! We found some squelchy mud, some patches of snow and had to walk safely along a road without a pavement.
