Welcome to Seafield Primary School

It gives me great pleasure to welcome new families and staff to Seafield. I hope that your child / children will be happy here with us and that their time in school will prove to be positive, productive and enjoyable. Please note when you are visiting Seafield that we promote the School Streets approach to Active Travel at the beginning and end of the school day, look out for the flashing lights to warn traffic about pupil safety when you are approaching and leaving the school as monitored by our JRSO.

As our Seafield Values suggest, we aim to Nurture all of our pupils and to develop a culture of Equality and Respect in our school community. We boast Diversity at Seafield, with 10 languages currently spoken in addition to English. As a community with both Army and RAF quarters, we frequently welcome Military Families from both within the UK and overseas. Our Enhanced Provision, The Learning Lounge and our Rainbow Rooms have been established to meet the needs of pupils who require some additional support or therapeutic interventions.

As you know, the best possible Education can be achieved for your child / children if we work in partnership with you as parents / carers to meet the needs of your child. We were thrilled to achieve our Digital Schools’ Award towards the end of Session 2021/22, as a result of our whole school community pulling together to improve Communication systems to make these more accessible and user-friendly for all.  Please see School Improvement information (SIP 2023/24) where there are details of our current work posted for your information.  Updates are available via Twitter/’X’ @SeafieldHT (please note, we are experiencing issues with the Twitter link since it has updated to ‘X’, so please Google Search @SeafieldHT) Updates are also available via the Seafield Parent Partnership Facebook Page.

We have lots of exciting plans for the further development of our school grounds, building Resilience through outdoor learning is a big part of our Seafield experience.  As an Eco Green Flag School, the Eco Committee lead on these initiatives and gather the ideas and views of our school community. Look out for further developments in our grounds, to include weekly Gardening Club, Wildlife Club and Hedgehog Club.

We look forward to working with you over the coming months and years in order for your child/children to reach his or her full potential, as ‘Together we Learn, Together we Grow’

Yours Sincerely,

Morven Snodgrass
