Family Involvement

Family Involvement

Since joining Attainment Challenge in 2017, we fully embraced the opportunities that being involved brought us.  We built meaningful partnerships with Community & Learning Development, Barnardo’s, Inverclyde Libraries Service and the Coaching and Modelling Officers from the Attainment Challenge Team.  This supported us to promote family engagement in the life of the school and in our children’s education.  Working with our partners to provide on-going opportunities for parents to engage in learning with their children and to participate in workshops to help them support their children’s learning has been positively received.

As a result of this great partnership working, we have managed to maintain great family involvement, despite the funding decrease to Attainment Challenge limiting our access to partners because a number of our parents agreed to take on roles of responsibility to support the wider parent group.  Our parents organise the Parent Drop-in Café themselves and support school events such as Infant Induction Days and Macmillan Coffee Morning or Mary’s Meals Porridge Mornings.  This means that new parents are always welcomed and have access to parents who are more familiar with the school.  This helps us build connections and maintain strong relationships with our parents and families.

Our children love their parents and families to be involved in the life of the school and it really benefits their learning too!
