Hello!

Hello!👋 We are the new Digital Leaders at Whinhill this year!

We are a group of primary 6’s and 7’s and we can’t wait to work together on all things digital.

We also have a top secret project that we started thinking about today.🤫 More details to come soon!

DLW – Friday!

What an amazing week of digital learning at Whinhill! We are so impressed with what has been going on in all of the classes!

This morning we spoke at the assembly sharing some of the great work each class has done. We also presented certificates for ‘Digital Star of the Week’. We also had the hard task of deciding who our ‘Digital Class of the Week’ would be. Our winner is…… P2/1!! We loved hearing all about what Mrs Dougan’s class got up to!

There has also been lots of classes doing more digital things today!

P1, P2 and P7/6 enjoyed using the beebots!

GP1-3 had great fun using the tablets.

Well done Whinhill for such an amazing week! We hope to see lots of digital learning happening in the future too! #WhinhillDigitalLearners

We’re Back!

Hello we are this year’s Whinhill Digital Leaders! Now we are getting back to normal, we’re excited to be using our blog again!

Next week is Digital Learning Week – Monday the 9th of May to Friday the 13th of May. In this committee we have lots planned! For example: BeeBots, MicroBits, tablets, green screens, coding websites etc. From next week we will be going around all of the classes checking in on what digital learning you have been doing that week and asking you questions. If you are curious what our names are they are: Max, Ollie L, Taylor, Lucy, Brandon, Gabriel, Kyle and Ollie J. We are so excited because we have not been able to do anything like this ever since Covid started – two years ago.

As we are going around the classes next week, the Digital Leaders will be choosing a ‘Digital Class of the Week’. Each class teacher will also choose a ‘Digital Star of the Week’. We can’t wait to start this project and see what all of you are learning!

Stay Digital – Digital Leaders

Cyber Scotland Week 2020

Last week was Cyber Scotland Week 2020. This was the perfect opportunity for our pupils to learn about staying safe online.

At the start of the week we visited all the classes to let them know, and asked teachers to plan a lesson for their class.

We revisited them this week, and we created a video to show all the things we learned!

What do you think?

Hello Everyone!

Hi everyone, we are the Digital Leaders at Whinhill Primary School in Greenock. We are starting this blog as a way of sharing our Whinhill Digital journey.

We have created a wall display outside the computer suite to let everyone know who we are and what we do. We will also be writing blog posts on here to share all the wonderful ways we use digital technologies at Whinhill. As digital leaders it is our job to help pupils and teachers access and use the wide range of resources available.

We started our journey by creating a survey for staff and pupils to find out how they used technology in school and what they would like us to help them develop. We used this survey to create an action plan which will also help us to achieve our Digital Schools Award. We can’t wait to show you how we, as digital leaders, are helping everyone be #WhinhillDigitalLearners!
