Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) is Scotland’s long standing, national commitment to provide all children, young people and their families with the right support at the right time, so that every child and young person can reach their full potential.
The Scottish Government (SG) published Statutory Guidance for education authorities on planning improvements for disabled pupils’ access to education. It provides advice on how education authorities and schools can meet obligations to improve access to education required under the Equality Act and the Education (Disability Strategies and Pupils’ Educational Records) (Scotland) Act 2002.
Appendix D of the guidance contains a checklist for digital support provided for learners who require it – view the SG guidance checklist
CALL Scotland help children and young people across Scotland to overcome disability and barriers to learning created by their environment, and to fulfil their potential. They provide many services and support, including:
- information on Additional Support Needs (ASN)
- additional guidance to the SG statutory guidance
- leaflets and posters with ideas and resources
