Primary 7 Puzzle Challenge Day

Primary 7 pupils from Keir Hardie, Newarthill, New Stevenson and Holytown all attended the Puzzle Challenge today at Brannock High School as part of their transition programme. As you can see from the photo’s below the children were all very engaged and enthusiastic when testing their brain power to solve the challenges and puzzles. A great day was had by all. Here’s some of the pupils thoughts on the day-

Photo Update Day 3

We are trying to get as many photos as we can, the children are split among 12 activity groups and each instructor takes photos with them each day. At the end of the week we will get those from them and update the blog with some more next week. We have had another busy day as you can see! We have done the nightline tonight. The children had a scream…. literally! The teachers had lots of fun too, especially getting to hose them all down at the end!

Some more words from the wanderers themselves…

Lee- My favourite activity was the rock climbing. It was really difficult to do because if you do one wrong move you could fall but you have a rope to keep you safe. I liked working with all my friends, we were a good team.

Brandon- I went on an adventure walk today. We went out walking up a mountain and we got to slide in the mud! I enjoyed teaming up with different people.

Logan – I enjoyed rock climbing today. It was challenging in a way because you had to find different places to put your feet.

Bilal – I liked the Woodland safari. We got to see all the animals that Derek had caught in the trap. You got to see some animal bones and skulls too.

Eryn – My favourite activity to do so far was the kayaking because you get to go in your own kayak and paddle yourself.

Heather – I went tree climbing. I liked jumping off the tree and hanging from the ropes.

Eve – I liked doing skiing today. I kept falling over and it was funny!

Hope – I went gorge walking today. I liked how you got to dive into the water. It was freezing!

Fraya – I liked doing coasteering the best. I liked climbing across the rocks and jumping into the water.

Kiera – My favourite so far has been the skiing. It was similar to holding a horse because of the way your hands had to be.

Kilbowie Adventures

Here’s a few words from the busy adventurers themselves …

Haseeb – I enjoyed learning how to canoe. It was fun learning to use the paddles.

Robbie – My favourite activity today was rock climbing. I got right to the top!

Stuart – I loved canoeing today. I liked when we stopped at the island and tried to skim stones.

Kian – I learned how to use the paddles to canoe over to an island. It took us a while to get used to it but we got there in the end!

Paul – I liked climbing today because it pushed me out of my comfort zone. It didn’t think I could do it but I did! 🙌🏻

Robyn – I enjoyed gorge walking today. My favourite part about it was when you had to swim over to get to the rocks. It was absolutely freezing and your socks end up feeling like jelly!

Kayla – I went on the Woodland safari with Derek. I liked getting to see the skulls and furs or dead animals. I held a dead fox that had been in the freezer!

Erin – I liked the skiing today. I liked going down the hills, I got up to blue!

Marc – I liked the gorge walking today. I had to climb on things and find a safe pathway forwards and back.

Kristopher- I went hill climbing on our walk today. I went to climb a steep hill and looked at the views and the instructor told us a story about the land.

Rhys – I enjoyed gorge walking today. It felt like sub zero temperatures and it was very fun.
