Blog update

We have been having problems updating the blog with more pictures from day 2 and 3 due to the WiFi connection. As soon as we get a stronger connection that doesn’t drop out in the middle of an upload then they will be updated!

Thank you for your patience and keep checking twitter for the daily updates in the meantime!

An exciting first day at Kilbowie!

We have had a very busy first day at Kilbowie. After lunch all of the boys and girls gathered their equipment together that they will need for the week ahead. At night everyone took part in a fun orienteering task around the grounds of the centre. We celebrated the first birthday of the week with some cake at supper time. Bedtime now! Goodnight everyone!

A lovely gift from Team Hunter

The Primary 7 class very much appreciated their lovely gift of a leavers hoody from the Hunter family. The children were very excited to get them on and happily modelled them for a few photos. They look absolutely fabulous and will be something memorable to keep for years to come to remind them of their time together at Keir Hardie.

Outdoor Learning

We finally got a chance to use some of the equipment that we chose as our prize from winning the Outdoor Learning competition. The class all decided together to choose some den making kits. As you can see from the photos we have made a good start to exploring the different ways in which the materials can be used. We are looking forward to using more problem solving skills to develop our structures next time!

Glasgow Sightseeing Bus Tour

Well weren’t we lucky that we got such a nice (albeit freezing ❄️) day for our trip around Glasgow. Our tour guide Alistair took us around Glasgow on an open top bus and pointed out many of the places that were mentioned in our class novel – Divided City. Some of the locations we visited were –

• Royston (the setting of Garngath in the book is based on here)

• The Royal Infirmary

• Provand’s Lordship

• Glasgow Catherdral

• The Necropolis

• Tollbooth Steeple

• Gallowgate

• The Barras

• Parkhead

• Emirates Arena

• Glasgow Green

• People’s Palace

• Clydeside

• The Clyde Arc aka The Squinty Bridge

• The Armadillo, SECC & The Hydro

• Finnieston

• Byres Road

• Glasgow University

• Kelvingrove Art Galleries

• Ibrox

Have a look at some of our amazing pictures of our trip!

Marvellous McArt

Primary 7 opened their Marvellous McArt shop on Friday and they were overwhelmed with the support they received from parents, staff and pupils. They all worked very hard on making the products and were pleased to sell out of every single item! Thank you to everyone who popped by and bought their very own piece of beautiful art! 💜🌈🐮

Competition Winners!

Well done to Primary 7 who recently won £200 to spend on outdoor learning equipment! A few months ago the class challenged themselves to create an outdoor learning logo using natural materials found in the school grounds. They took photographs of their creations and sent them away as part of a competition for all North Lanarkshire schools. Needless to say they were all very proud to learn their class submission had been chosen as the winner. Well done Primary 7!

Fun in the snow ⛄️
