Our new MVP in the Community training is hoping to expand our approach beyond schools and education settings, supporting community groups, youth organisations, sports clubs, workplaces and local partners to build safer, more respectful communities.
MVP in the Community has been developed in partnership with our newly established Community Learning and Development (CLD) Steering Group, bringing together representatives from North Lanarkshire Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Renfrewshire Council and St Paul’s Youth Forum.
The training materials have also been reviewed by Education Scotland’s CLD Team and meet the requirements for Community Learning and Development practitioners to record participation as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through the CLD Standards Council.

Day 2 focuses on applying MVP learning within community settings and supporting participants to plan for successful implementation. The day begins with a recap of key learning and MVP scenarios that can be adapted to suit the needs of different groups and environments.

Participants will also have the opportunity to:
- Explore challenging situations and discussions that may arise when delivering sessions on gender-based violence (GBV)
- Plan activities and engagement opportunities linked to the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign
- Develop a tailored implementation plan specific to their organisation, group or setting
- Consider effective approaches to engaging boys and men in violence prevention work
- Identify next steps, support available and opportunities for ongoing development
By the end of the training, each participant will leave with a practical, setting-specific plan to implement MVP in their community, helping to promote leadership, challenge harmful behaviours and create safer, more respectful environments.
Here are some examples of models of delivery that could be done in a community setting but, there are many other ways you could deliver the programme.

If you would be interested in receiving the training please get in contact and we can get you booked in!
