There is a large body of research that we can draw on to help us teach the children in our care.
Visible learning tells us ‘know thy impact’. Cooperative learning teaches us the value of peer learning, know how to be effective questioners and how to build learning powers. While growth mindset research tells us what language we should be using in the classroom and what attitudes to foster in our learners.
The Scottish Government has given us guidelines and indicators to follow. In this section we will link growth mindset to research and Scottish policy to show how it can complement and support them.
