The Education Authority currently provides free school transport to all Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig a’ Challtainn pupils who live more than 1.2 miles from their local school, by the recognised shortest walking route.  Receipt of school transport is a privilege, and not an entitlement.

Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig a’ Challtainn expects pupils to follow our school values whilst in school and also when out of school. The importance of this is positively reinforced regularly, during assemblies as well as in class discussions.

Pupils travelling to Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig a’ Challtainn by taxi, service or contract bus supplied by Glasgow City Council have a responsibility to behave at all times in an appropriate manner, to make sure that journeys to and from school are safe, calm, and pleasant for everyone.

The school has no responsibility for the conduct of children on school transport, however the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) regularly reinforce positive behaviour to pupils and encourage positive
parental involvement. When breaches of the code occur, the school’s role is to liaise with parents, the Parent Council, transport providers and the council to resolve issues.
