Creative Scotland will be announcing its timetable for launching new funding streams and how to apply in April, alongside the publication of its strategic plan.

Regular funding for organisations

The funding deadline for organisations wishing to be considered for regular funding from April 2015 will be in July 2014. Guidelines will be available from April 2014 and we will be discussing the transition needs of currently funded organisations with them direct, over the coming months.

Project funding

The new project funding programme will open in October 2014 and Creative Scotland is planning to run the following programmes until at least that time (deadlines to be advised shortly):

The final list of programmes will be confirmed once budgets have been approved by the Board in March.

If you have any questions about the funding streams, application process or would like to discuss a proposal with someone before preparing your application, please contact the Enquiries Service on 0845 603 6000 (10am-12pm & 2-4pm Mon – Fri, voicemail outwith these hours) or email enquiries@creativescotland.com.

Small grant support for implementing the CLD Strategic Guidance

Education Scotland is keen to support work which will contribute to the delivery of the key outcomes identified in the CLD Strategic Guidance and has set aside a small grant support stream for activities during financial year 2013/14.

Further information about the funding and details on how to submit a proposal can be found on the Education Scotland website.

Proposals must be submitted by Friday 19 April 2013, all proposals will be considered by an evaluation panel that will meet in April.

Funding will be very limited and is not intended to replace other funding streams for CLD.  A further evaluation panel may be held in September 2013 subject to funds being available.  Further information about the dates for this panel will be provided in July 2013.  We will not be able to consider applications for funding at any other times during 2013/14.

Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme Open Fund

From 23 July – 3 August 2014, Glasgow will host the XX Commonwealth Games, one of the world’s most significant multi-sports events.

Glasgow 2014 will be Scotland’s largest ever combined sporting and cultural celebration, and the vision is to stage an outstanding Games that will be celebrated at home and across the Commonwealth. As an integral part of an unforgettable Commonwealth Games experience, we have the ambition to stage and support a truly spectacular and surprising programme of cultural events that will bring the Commonwealth to Scotland and take Scotland to the Commonwealth.

Glasgow 2014 Limited, Creative Scotland and Glasgow Life are now inviting individuals and organisations to apply to the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme Open Fund.

This fund is a major component in the development of the nationwide Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme and aims to enhance the Games experience for Scotland’s communities, spectators and visitors, as well as present the best of Scotland’s culture alongside that of the Commonwealth.

A total of £4million is available and individual artists, community-led groups and arts organisations are invited to apply for awards ranging from £20,000 up to £300,000.

Projects can be new and one-off events or enhancements of an existing festival or programme of work. They can feature in either or both the Scotland-wide programme Culture 2014 – which will focus on the countdown to the Games before the focus subsequently turns to other major events, such as the Ryder Cup and the Edinburgh Festivals – and Festival 2014, which will transform Glasgow during Games-time.

Further details on the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme and other opportunities, along with background information on the Games, and full guidelines on how to apply to the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme Open Fund can be found on the Creative Scotland website.

Applications close on Friday 22 February 2013.
