Radio Edutalk – Professional learning for teachers channel

Radio Edutalk (http://edutalk.cc) is an online radio station and free professional learning resource, organised by teachers David Noble and John Johnston. There are no costs to listeners and shows can be streamed, downloaded or subscribed to anytime, anywhere via most web-enabled devices, including mobile phones and tablet PCs. Shows are broadcast every Wednesday and Thursday evenings at http://www.edutalk.cc/listen.

Chemistry Resources encourage problem solving and analytical thinking

Learn Chemistry

Learn Chemistry is a free online resource for chemistry teachers and students. It allows teachers and students to explore thousands of resource downloads, substance pages, articles and activities. These free-to-access teaching materials relate content to everyday life and real-world challenges in areas such as: Pharmaceutical; Air quality; Lifestyle; Scarce natural resources; Agricultural productivity; Energy

Free-text search, intuitive navigation and filters allow quick and easy access to a wide range of chemistry resources – including experiments, worksheets, videos, simulations, and games – at home or in the classroom.

Created for use with pupils at varying levels of ability, materials are designed to encourage students to approach challenges through problem solving and analytical thinking.

BBC Class Clips

Class Clips is part of the BBC’s Learning Zone website and contains more than 9,000 free video clips from BBC programmes ready to play in the classroom.

The clips have been specially selected to support teachers in all subjects and areas of the curriculum; they are safe and appropriate for use in a learning context. A search engine allows users to search by primary or secondary  level and by subject or topic.

A ‘creativity’ search brings up a wealth of inspiring resources.
