Acceptable Use Policy

The Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is revised regularly to meet the ever changing nature of technology, the environment and the internet. The aim of our AUP is to ensure that students, families and teachers benefit from the learning opportunities offered in a safe, responsible and effective manner.

Teachers

Teachers will be using Seesaw mainly for homework however, during the time on Online learning they will use it to assign classwork. Teachers will have access to Seesaw from 9:00 – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday. For a healthy work/life balance teachers are encouraged not to access Seesaw out with these hours.

Homework – Teachers will now provide appropriate homework for your child on Seesaw. This can be completed by your child using the Seesaw Class App. Parents are encouraged to use their family app to keep up with any feedback from teachers.

Class work – All teachers and children will be using Seesaw to set tasks to be completed at home and will share this either weekly or daily. The class teacher will also check in at regular points throughout the day.  Over the course of the year, this will help to build up a clearer picture of your child’s learning in school.

Parents/Carers

Engagement: Parents/Carers are encouraged to engage with Seesaw via the Family app. There are options to either ‘like’ work posted or to post a positive comment. At times these may be shared in class on the Smartboard.

Communication: There is a private inbox section on the Family app, which allows for communication between parents/carers, and the class teacher. The inbox section should not be used to deal with parental complaints or on-going issues. If there are any problems, parents/carers are encouraged to call the school office or to email the Head Teacher.

Use:

Parents/carers, will have access to Seesaw at all hours but please note that teachers will not be able to reply to comments/homework or anything else immediately. If it is an urgent matter, please contact the school office
